Smart phones haven't as you would know.

The ray ban Meta is to hit the market by end 2025. Full internet and AI, but my interest is for the instant translation when interacting with a foreigner. Will be very useful in Thailand mainly in those moments when you have a builder or contractor or a worker who suddenly will splurt out the usual "huuh ?", pretend not to suddenly understand english any more when challenged....you just take out your glasses and can have a conversation in their native language. Far more practical then google translate that often does not properly use the right lexical or syntax. Thank you.

Who pointed you to that publication as you stated earlier that you NEVER read the news!

BTW you are supporting some wild prediction regarding something that Trump;s lackey says will "predicts that in less than a decade, smart glasses will replace smartphones"

Great idea for them. You buy a pair of smart glasses for $1000, then after a few days you sit on them and have to buy another pair. Lol

I need a phone because my ears don't pick up the internet even though my hearing is good!

But why do I need glasses to connect to the internet when my eyesight is good and my phone still works?

Tech ideas for tech Techies only!

The 90s with regular cellphones was the peak of humanity. After smartphones everything went downhill

I remember when texting first came out.

I said it would never take off because it seems we'd progressed from runners and smoke signals, to the carrier-pigeon, to the postal service, to the telegraph, to the telephone, to automatic dialling, to progressively cheaper international calls, to cellphones. So why would we want to revert to texting which is essentially a p2p telegram.

I was wrong.

My daughter thinks "old skool" is a matchbox size cellphone where hitting the 1 button three times got you the letter C.  :coffee1:

rayban meta is banned in Thailand ...btw  i already checked

Mark Zuckerberg as quoted by Indian Defence Review, telling us the replacement for smart phones.

I suspect Apple and Google wake up shivering at these pronouncements of their demise.  Mark, sorry to tell ya, but you stopped being relevant a loooong time ago.

From an aesthetic perspective this would be a total nightmare. If you thought girls wearing facemaks during daily outings was bad, imagine them wearing clunky Google/China glasses frames. It would be the death of beauty. Having a beautiful face would become meaningless. All you'd see is a sea of nerds.

But it could help hide the ugly ones and if you are wearing the same things it could even enhance their looks!

Which just adds to the tragedy, you'd be unable to tell which girls are pretty and which are ugly. Unless we develop very discerning eyesight, or maybe tweak the glasses to develop a program that takes an AI pic without the glasses she's wearing.

OMG!

What if it works in reverse and make the lady of your dreams look like a total Hag?

Fakes like most of the "Branded" items for sale in Thailand!

I wouldn't be so sure about that.  Maybe you're right, though.  I've seen them at Central /festival in the major stores.

I knew it all along, it's Trump's fault!

Zuckerberg is trying to push Apple out - cheaper than trying to buy them out. Google has nothing to worry about as every devise created uses them.

The supremacy will be decided by the AI capability to provide the most accurate data retrieval whether it be translation accuracy, location, or whatever consumers desire.

Personally I'm waiting for Star Trek technology. :wai:
