Double Tourist Visa-duration

Featured Replies

Im from Sweden and have a question about the double tourist visa that I will apply for now.

My ticket is on 9 months but am only applying for a double entry-tourist visa wich covers only 4 months,

On duration of stay should I write 9 months or 4?

My plan was to later get a new double entry tourist visa in Malaysia etc

Please give me a quick reply

I suggest 4 months, and I seriously doubt this will be a problem for your application.

Scouse.

Actually if you extend your stay by 30 days for each entry of 60 it will give you 6 months after which you could enter twice on 30 days stamps without the need for a visa although your return ticket might be a problem for entry on a 30 days stamp.

As far as your application is concerned IF you are supposed to show your air ticket with the application I would not write 4 months when the ticket clearly shows 9. Just my own opinion.

Why don't you ask for a triple entry and then it wouldcover the 9 months (with an extension on each entry) ?

In a similar situation, I wrote 4. Either way you are doing something fancy and they will know that. You don't mean you will stay the entire time in Thailand, right? So it is 2 entries which have two months each, that is what you are asking for. I interpret the question as what is the duration of stay in Thailand for the visas you are asking for without extensions. Another option is to ask for more entries, sure.

I understand there will be different opinions on this. Perhaps wait a little longer if you can for more opinions. This is only my opinion mixed with one experience.

You are not likely to receive a two entry tourist visa from Malaysia so suggest you use the allowed 30 day extensions and then a new tourist visa and if needed a 30 day stay or 7 day extension to complete the nine months.
