Pictures from responders during the recovery of the pickup.

A 41-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck and overturned into a roadside ditch during heavy rain in Lang Suan district, Chumphon province, late on 24 February.

Emergency responders from the Saichon Rescue Unit and officers from Lang Suan Police Station were called to Highway 41, near Je Na’s Durian Stall, in Wang Tako subdistrict.

At the scene, they found the overturned vehicle submerged in a roadside ditch, with the driver trapped and unresponsive inside. Rescue teams pulled the driver from the truck and attempted CPR but were unable to revive him. The deceased was later identified as Mr. Amnat, 41 years old.

At the time of the crash, there was heavy rainfall and significant water accumulation on the road and in the ditch. It is believed that Mr. Amnat, unfamiliar with the route, lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions, resulting in the fatal crash.

Police are investigating the incident, gathering eyewitness statements and reviewing evidence to determine the exact cause of the accident. The victim’s body was transported to Lang Suan Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being released to his family.
