August 9, 200719 yr Anybody else like the gov't weather radars as much as I do ? I use them to plan what to do n where to go especially when it rains frequently, but recently they turned off the image of one measuring station since May, and now the other one is stuck on the same image from a week ago. I wish we could get images even more accurate than hourly or 120km sweeps of the area, but I'll take it if that's all they've got. In LA you can literally track a storm to your neighborhood and street - granted that's a bit overboard, so just giving some perspective. I live near the airport ans might swing by the meteorological offices to introduce myself and tell them many of us like the radar updates,"....and so why have they stopped updating?" In the most polite Thai and polite way possible, of course. I also use weather dot com, but they only show the whole of SE Asia even though I enter CM for the satellite map. It's helpful to see what's headed our way from Vietnam or Burma. What other places do you guys use?
August 9, 200719 yr Check out the Chiang Rai radar image as it is still being updated, and you can see Chiang Mai at the lower left. And when you go to introduce yourself, tell them others are interested too. Chiang Rai Radar Image from TMD
