Same vibes as when woke corporations boycotted X with much fanfare. Of course, wasn't long before they quietly came slithering back hoping nobody would notice. Neil Young and Spotify too.  Insinc

Good. trump and Co obviously believe might is great and brooks no disagreement. Unfortunately it seems many Americans think aggressive nationalism is the solution to their issues which will bite them in the arse. IMO the sooner they change their tune the better for the US and the world in general.

Many do not seem to be aware the current Administration is guided by Paleo Conservatism whom the likes of Stephen Miller espouse.  It's probable Trump isn't aware enough to know he's actually being led down a pre existing ideological path and it's history. As a reminder...

Paleoconservatism is a political philosophy and a paternalistic strain of conservatism in the United States stressing American nationalism, Christian ethics, regionalism, traditionalist conservatism, and non-interventionism. Paleoconservatism's concerns overlap with those of the Old Right that opposed the New Deal in the 1930s and 1940s[1] as well as with paleolibertarianism.[2][3] By the start of the 21st century, the movement had begun to focus more on issues of race.[4][5]

Insincere and uninformed protest boycotts do not work, but keep the uninformed cheery for a few days.

America is a capitalist country. It is a business that needs to buy and sell goods. If it's marketing plan goes doolally, it will sell less. That's market forces. People don't like your image, they go elsewhere.

Radically Reduced world consumption of material things will be very good for slowing Global Warming.

Who says that Trump does not care about the future of humanity?

I think you're missing the fact that not much is produced in the USA these days that the rest of the world wants.   Aren't many of its agricultural products already banned in other countries?

Anyway, the more important point is that America is a rich country with lots of consumers who like to buy stuff.  perhaps that's the more important factor? If the rest of the world wants to do business in America, that may be the more important factor.

After months of the forum left laughing at the notion(fact) US goods are banned or tariffed up the wazoo in other countries. Another liberal narrative crashing and burning.

More Pavlovian conspiracy thinking.  It's unthinkable that ordinary citizens would be angered when a country goes after their economy.

Florida orange juice WAY down. Obviosly Canada isn't buying, but where else does it sell? Europe? I see it here sometimes but never buy it.  I guess Europe have their own oranges from Spain. Europe sales of Tesla off a cliff. The big test would be American icons like Coke, Lays, etc. Europe doesn't buy US cars. South America? Asia? No US cars here, but food like Heinz and other obvious names are likely taking a hit in many countries as this spreads.

That's what inflation was all about too maybe? To cut down consumption for global warming?

But everyone sees it as a bad thing.

I didn't say that its unthinkable that ordinary citizens would be angered when a country goes after their economy.

Thats an extreme straw man argument .

Make up something that I said and then accuse me of being a conspiracy theorist

Utter anger? Donald does not give a rats a__ and neither should American business. It is time to level the playing field with these countries that impose their own tariffs on American goods. Canada and Europe both have a trade deficit with the U.S. therefore they will suffer more than the U.S.
