A fatal crash occurred in Ayutthaya on the evening of 3 April when a motorcycle collided with a trailer truck, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man.

At 18:30, police officers were alerted to the crash, which took place on Highway 306, near Borpong, Nakhon Luang District. Authorities quickly responded and coordinated with the Ayutthaya Rescue Association to provide support.

At the scene, a trailer truck was found turning out from a warehouse, with its trailer unit across the road. Underneath the trailer, the wreckage of a red Honda motorcycle was discovered. The body of the rider, identified as Thanakorn, was found with severe injuries to the head and body, responders confirmed his death at the scene.

According to the truck driver, Sakorn aged 29, he was turning the truck from the warehouse towards the Asian Highway. As he manoeuvred the truck, a car had stopped to allow him to turn. At that moment, the motorcycle rider attempted to overtake the car and collided with the trailer. The motorcyclist became trapped beneath the vehicle.

Sakorn expressed regret over the incident, stating that he believed the rider may have been distracted, possibly using a mobile phone, and did not notice the truck. He expressed his deep sorrow, stating he never wanted such an event to occur.

Police officers have gathered evidence from the scene, including photographs of the crash, and are in the process of interviewing witnesses. The truck driver was taken in for further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

I am surprised that he did not throw in alcohol and drugs as well.

The fact is that he should have waited for all traffic to stop.

A fact that very few people on the roads here consider.

Sadly, in Thailand, no one gives way to motorcycles.

They all expect the bike to stop.

True to the extent of 50%. The other 50% is that other drivers should observe that one car stops, and find out why before they continue or overtake. But, in general here, people find it very difficult to respect each other in traffic. Same bad track record as respecting the other parts decision in a relationship.
