I didn't t read the article, but I've read enough of them lately.  What it boils down to is that I never click on any links I receive in an email for any reason.

If I want to check my account or whatever, I know how to do that.

Be sure to regularly change your email password, and make it a strong password.

When signing in, many companies are now sending a verification code to email addresses as part of their Two Factor Authentication process. (2FA)

I use Apple, so I guess my email password is the same as the password for my Apple ID.  And that is something Apple makes up.  It's a very strong password. But the hackers even have a way around that?

Something in the back of my brain seems to remember that I should use facial ID and not just a password?  Or maybe I shouldn't use 2FA at all?

I need to look into that.

Do you do everything on your phone?  Don't you own a PC?

Everything I have is Apple.  A Mac Mini, a MacBook Air, two iPad Pros, and an iPad mini.  Plus an IPhone.  It's all hooked up to the same ecosystem.  The same passwords for everything.  And I always use a VPN.

Ok.

I tend not to put all my eggs in one basket.  Basically, spread the risk of loss, theft, damage etc.  Multiple devices on multiple platforms.  Each to their own.

That's fine.  No harm in doing that.  I just need to figure out what's what in terms of 2FA and how hackers work these days.

Multiple platforms makes sense.  Right now, I've got one brokerage account that even I can't access until I go back to the USA. Fine with me, because I don't want to sell anything in that account anyway.

As for my other accounts? It's all in stocks, and if anything transpires, I get an alert.  And it takes one day to settle any trade, and I look at the account daily.  So, nothing can happen that I can't counteract.

That's about the way it works.  Then again, what's money these days?  Try looking at the prices for a stupid house in Miami Beach.

That's what they say. An historical fluke. And now were's all headed back to the norm.  A feudal society where you're either a lord or a peasant. .
