May 25, 20251 yr Popular Post Picture courtesy: National News Bureau of Thailand Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has clarified that her recent visit to the UK and Monaco was not simply a holiday. Speaking before her departure to the 46th ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur on May 25th, she highlighted significant diplomatic progress, particularly concerning a potential Formula 1 city circuit Grand Prix in Thailand, according to Amarin TV. The Prime Minister emphasised that her schedule was predominantly occupied with official duties, leaving her with only a brief opportunity for leisure at the airport on her last day. During her UK visit, she engaged in discussions with the British Department of Trade and Industry, exploring market needs and deliberating on the prospects of establishing a Free Trade Agreement. Shinawatra also met with Prince Albert II of Monaco and held discussions with Formula 1 executives, enhancing prospects for Thailand to host a city-circuit Grand Prix. Further details are expected to emerge in the coming two to three months. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Newsroom 2025-05-26
May 26, 20251 yr Popular Post Title of the Op is (intentionally?) ambiguous. Seems to say the opposite of the content of the article ...
May 26, 20251 yr Popular Post Very important for a PM to talk about organizing F1 racing....I doubt if Prince Albert of Monaco is involved in the organization of that event in his city
May 26, 20251 yr Now she said it what I was mentioned here already: Prince Albert and Formula One in Monaco. Maybe even meeting Alex Albon and the Red Bull Heir. The sweet talks in UK for an hour or so was just a reason for covering the expenses.🥰
May 26, 20251 yr Popular Post Maybe she senses doom and gloom in the near future and is checking out rental accommodations

May 26, 20251 yr The term “exploring” is commonly used by company reps to make their fun trip sound like a business trip. I’m guilty of it myself. 😂😂😂
May 26, 20251 yr What she meant to say was she was visiting the prince of Monaco for about 15 minutes and then she went on a big shopping spree TIT

May 26, 20251 yr Sure, it is like all visitors to Pattaya go there for the temples ........... Don't give me the agricultural products promotion tour to the United Kingdom; the Brits knew everything on Asian fruits and vegetables long before the existence of Thailand. Lotus's started off as Tesco-Lotus, Makro, Auchan and Carrefour (while they were still doing business in Thailand) did a lot of sourcing and export. The last person to "push" Thai exports is the PM who has not the slightest clue of the product. But yes, it sells well to the uneducated electorate in Northern and Northeastern Thailand. Seeing her fugitive Auntie is understandable yet it remains unclear, what apart from the populistic trip, the PM was doing in the UK. The Monaco excursion though was another ballgame - the study trip to casino-heaven is to underline the importance and survival necessity of casinos in Thailand. Question remains only, who needs casinos for survival. We all know but are not allowed to mention it - fair enough! Wondering what HSH the Prince thought of this visitor from faraway Lala Land 😉
May 26, 20251 yr It was a holiday and the complimentary 1982 Margaux, Lafite and Petrus was amazing. Life is grand.
May 26, 20251 yr The protocol would be for a visiting PM to have a meeting, however brief, with the PM of the country visited. Never happened, apparently.
