A dramatic encounter unfolded in the heart of Chai Nat province on the night of 13 June, when a large python slithered into a warehouse and devoured a chicken in full view of stunned workers.

 

Volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation in Chai Nat were called to a construction supply warehouse and workers’ dormitory at house number 187, Moo 3, Chai Nat subdistrict, after receiving a report of a large snake entering the premises.

 

Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered a reticulated python, over two metres in length, coiled beneath a stack of cement blocks and roof tiles near the workers’ accommodation. Using snake-catching tools, the team cautiously cleared the area and managed to clamp the snake’s head before carefully extracting it from its hiding place.

 

Onlookers could see the snake’s visibly distended belly. It was later confirmed that the python had just swallowed a full-grown hen.

 

One worker recounted the moment, explaining that he was about to leave his room when he heard a dog barking frantically. Upon investigating, he witnessed the snake tightly coiled around the chicken before swallowing it whole. He immediately contacted the rescue team, who arrived to safely remove the reptile.

 

The python was later secured in a sack and released back into the wild.

 

Local residents, though alarmed, were equally fascinated by the incident, especially the fact that the snake entered house number 187. With the next Thai lottery draw approaching, many took note of the house number, believing the snake’s unexpected visit could bring good fortune.
