Amid ongoing diplomatic tensions, the Cambodian government urges its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Thailand.

On 22nd June, Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement advising its citizens to steer clear of Thailand unless absolutely necessary, citing ongoing strains in the bilateral relationship.

For Cambodians residing in Thailand, the government emphasised the importance of exercising utmost caution. Citizens are advised to stay informed through official sources and to avoid risky areas such as protests or demonstrations, which could pose safety concerns.

In case of emergencies or if assistance is needed, Cambodians are encouraged to reach out immediately to the Cambodian Embassy or Consulates in Thailand. Authorities stress the importance of being prepared and having clear communication lines with diplomatic missions.

This advisory underscores the need for awareness and caution during a period of uncertainty and aims to ensure the safety and security of Cambodian nationals abroad.

The TAT will throw a fit, their numbers will decrease even further without the Khmer tourists crossing the border for short visits.
