Pathum Thani

Nightlife? Never heard of any in this province. Oh, there are a few local discos close to Future Park Rangsit, I think. IMO, Pathumthani is dead quiet. Green space, yeah. Shopping.. mm.. Future Park Rangsit (Central & Robinson). Cinemas.. EGV Rangsit & Major Cineplex Rangsit. Sightseeing.. only a bit, I'm afraid. But you can go to Ayudhaya or Lopburi easily.. and very close.

PS. My place is located where Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Pathumthani meet. So, I tend to come to Bangkok more. A lot more.

No nightlife no green parks. The place is famous for the hundreds of wholesale shops around Baiyoke Tower (328m) crowded with people from everywhere in the world fighting for the lowest price. Simular to weekend marked but almost clothes.

The areas also have some large shoppingmall and some famous schools, but the great overview over Bangkok from the restaurant in top of the tower is a must.

Live? No!

Phatumthani is a both a province and a city so it will depend somewhat on where exactly you live

The province starts 1k past Don Muang airport so you might not be so far from downtown Bangkok.

Thammasat has a campus there as does Rangsit U. So there is a fair amount of places for the younger crowd to frequent. Lots of restaurants etc

Shopping is good - Future Park Rangsit has all the major outlets to be found in central bangkok. plus cinema and bowling and all the usual.

The big supermarket chains are all repesented. No real need to go into Bangkok

Zeer Rangsit just down the road from Future Park is the equivalent of Panthip Plaza

There are many golf courses in the province - 2 at muang ake and isn't the infamous Alpine course in the province.

Night life as is known in Bangkok is non-existant. I think it wa one of the few provinces that did not carry out a re-zoning of the nightlife area as it staetd it did not possess nor want the nightlife (The zoning concept has seemed to have died down)

Certainly it is not a bad place to be in if you are here with a family and do not have limitless funds with which to arrange housing.

On your own it could be a little boring unless your thai is good. Not too many farangs to be found wandering around.

Rangsit U has just opend a brand new bilingual school in the muang ake area
