‘Jurassic World’ Filming Triggers Tourism Boom in Southern Thailand

Thailand is reaping the rewards of Hollywood's spotlight as Jurassic World Rebirth wraps filming across Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi—bringing over 400 million baht in revenue and creating more than 2,200 jobs. Partnering with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched a global influencer campaign, flying in 30 top influencers to promote film-inspired travel. With stars like Jonathan Bailey and director Gareth Edwards visiting, Thailand is embracing “set-jetting” tourism. Over 322 foreign film shoots have already generated 3.3 billion baht in 2024. Local tourism leaders are now pushing for streamlined filming support to sustain this cinematic momentum.
