Thai - Cambodia Conflict Cambodian Spy Posing as Bubble Tea Seller Arrested in Lopburi

Authorities in Lopburi have arrested a Cambodian military officer accused of operating as a spy while posing as a bubble tea vendor.

 

The arrest was carried out on 9 August by officers from the 13th Military Circle’s Provost Division (Saha M.T.B.) in coordination with Lopburi police. The suspect was detained at a bubble tea outlet in the Pa Tan area, near the Paratrooper Roundabout inside the Pa Wai Military Camp.

 

Preliminary investigations revealed the man is a Cambodian army captain serving with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. He was taken into custody and transferred to Lopburi Police Station for further questioning and investigation into his alleged espionage activities.

 

Officials have not yet disclosed details of the suspect’s mission or whether additional arrests are expected.
