US Poll: Most Blame Trump for Ongoing Government Shutdown

Featured Replies

Not up on what the current sticking point is.

Heard it was ACA Healthcare.  Healthcare needs work but until there is a solid replacement kick it down the road for X months and keep things running.

American healthcare, pay premium, deductible usually at least $3,500, then a 40% co pay for many categories.  If you choose the $0 deductible you end up with doctors whose earliest appointment is 2 or 3 months away.

Definitely needs work but keep things running.

As well they should. Trump is a divider, a hater and a terrible negotiator. He is at fault. And his falling poll numbers suggest that a lot of Americans are finally figuring out just who this fool is.

Anyone with more than two brain cells knows that the Republicans have the House and the Senate, and they can end the shutdown any time they want. All they have to do is scrap the filibuster, so they can bypass the Democrats. Like they did when they confirmed their picks for Supreme Court justices.

No one wants to scrap the filibuster.

But why now do you ignore your cult leader then?

"The Republicans have to get tougher. If we end the filibuster, we can do exactly what we want," Mr. Trump said. "We're not going to lose power."

Almost all of Trump’s cabinet are billionaires, or at least millionaires, so freezing their salaries would probably not impress them very much.

I didn't mean just the current bunch. I mean all at any time.

So.....most Americans will credit Trump for ending the shutdown? Classic lefties caught in yet another lie😅

There is a reason we call it the Shumer Shutdown.

Nancy is so mad he put the brakes on her money making schemes she quit before she got fired.

Good excuse for Trump to reduce some of the employee bloat.   Send them home and don't let them come back.  No one will miss many of the federal workers.  BYE.

The US federal government cannot continue to borrow to fund healthcare.

I don't see how they can recover.  They are on the wrong side of almost every issue.  I think it started with Obama, George Floyd, BLM, immigration, abortion, free speech, no bail, no prosecution, targeting the right, shoutdowns in restaurants, Obamacare, proping up Pelosi and Schiff, Hilary destroying evidence, Jan 6th committee destroying evidence, trying to keep Trump off the ballot, and and on and on.....I don't know if this was Trump's grand plan, someone elses grand plan, or he just is lucky at every turn.  It's so amazing, I feel sorry for the dems who just keep getting beat at every corner.  It must be tiring and disappointing.  It's like they're playing softball and ARod is up to bat.

Pelosi has no influence on the current crisis. She no longer holds any authority in the power and will not seek another term. Find another scapegoat.

He should let Don jr run as his proxy in 28. Would be like the kenyan controlling biden but for the good of America instead of trying to destroy it.

Lets go!!

The Democrats are trying to keep  affordable medical care for  people of  limited income. It impacts tens of millions of people. This is there only leverage. It is a critical issue for voters.
