A recent survey by the National Institute of Development Administration shows the People's Party and its leader, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, ranking highest in popularity among voters in 18 central provinces of Thailand. Conducted from November 10 to 13, the survey polled 2,000 individuals aged 18 and above, indicating a significant portion of the electorate remains undecided.

The survey covered voters from provinces including Chai Nat, Ayutthaya, and Lopburi, among others. It revealed that 35.65% of respondents have not found a suitable choice for prime minister. Meanwhile, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut led named candidates with 19.6% support. The People’s Party also topped the party preference with 28.85% of votes, although 28.95% of participants were still unsure of their choice.

Expert analysis suggests that the large undecided voter base may significantly impact the outcome of any forthcoming election. Political analysts observe that Natthaphong's lead in the poll reflects growing support for the People’s Party, but the uncertainty among voters could lead to unpredictable results. The data could encourage other parties to intensify their campaigns to capture undecided voters.

Looking forward, parties may focus on addressing key issues that resonate with these undecided voters. This strategy may be crucial to sway the electorate before the next election. With substantial portions of the population still uncommitted, political strategies will likely evolve to capture this demographic's attention, reported The Nation.

Key Takeaways

  • Many voters remain undecided on their party and leader preferences.
  • Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut and the People's Party currently lead polls.
  • Political campaigns may intensify to win over undecided voters.
