November 19, 2025Nov 19 A foreign visitor wants to come to Thailand and visit me in Bangkok for one week, then fly home. Will anybody check at departure whether we did a TM30? And how to do a TM 30? 1. If staying at my place 2. If staying at a hotel I booked (and I checked in)
November 19, 2025Nov 19 No one will check. Not worth the bother unless you have already registered your address and can do it yourself online.....who does your own TM30? If staying in a hotel they will do one but you won't see it unless you ask specifically.

But maybe that has changed and they want pp of every guest now.

Unpredictable, 50/50 if staying in together in the same room although they all say that only registered guests can stay, but having rules and following them are not the same thing.
November 19, 2025Nov 19 OP, don't bother with TM30 for your friend. Don't forget friend will need to do TDAC prior to flying to Thailand.
November 19, 2025Nov 19 Author Thx to both of you. I have to remind my friend of TDAC, which shouldn't be a problem

Actually the instructions say one can do it prior to the last three days prior to entry but that it might get lost in the shuffle so the 3days prior is best!. It is just too easy to do and then print out that one sent in to immigration and retain a copy if asked upon entrance into Thailand. On an LTR and they were interested in insuring the P/P number matched and address where I would be staying and with the previous TM>30 in my P/P matching all went smoothly and quickly too.

Based on numerous reports of a hard copy print out was not required I will be taking screenshots of the tdac. Not about to go looking for print service.

Just remember to have enough power on your phone, my battery actually went flat in the queue, but the immigration officer said it didn't matter. They had my TDAC in their system, showing up when they screened my passport.
November 25, 2025Nov 25 Nineteen years here, and the only time we have been talked to about the TM30 not being filed was at our 90 day check-in at immigration, and at those times they just did it for us, no fines. Our family and friends have come for multiple visits and we haven't filed the TM30 as many times they are heading off on trips into Laos or other areas of Thailand and it seems redundant. That being said, the answer to the question of whether or not to have it filed probably depends on the amount of stress and worry it causes a person if it is not done. As for us, the house owner does them online, it's really not a big process for a Thai house owner to register to submit the TM30.
