Two Thai actresses have rejected allegations of being linked to a purported financial scam led by a high-profile celebrity, reportedly defrauding the entertainment industry in Thailand of over 400 million baht. The controversy began on November 19 when a Facebook page, ท่านเปา, suggested a major actress orchestrated a fraudulent investment scheme, misleading friends and fellow celebrities. The promised returns never materialized, leaving investors demanding repayment, which the accused actress failed to provide.

The scam reportedly involved not only the failed investment fund but also borrowed money from various entertainment industry colleagues, which remains unpaid. The financial losses are said to surpass 400 million baht, with individual victims allegedly losing tens of millions. Some victims, including one unnamed actress, lost their entire savings. As a result, those affected are reportedly gathering evidence to file legal complaints, having first tried to resolve matters privately.

In the wake of the allegations, public speculation focused on the reality television celebrity group known as the Angel Gang. Initial suspicion fell on Viritipa “Woonsen” Pakdeeprasong, who denied any involvement and expressed frustration at being falsely associated with the scam. Her fellow Angel Gang members backed her, reinforcing her innocence. Subsequently, the Facebook page clarified that Woonsen was not involved but identified the suspect's initial as "N," shifting attention to Rybena “Nana” Intachai.

Nana also denied the allegations and called for patience until her official statement. Despite her denials, speculation continued, fueled by observations that close friends Paula Taylor and Janesuda Parnto unfollowed her on Instagram. Interestingly, other group members, unlike in Woonsen's situation, did not publicly support Nana, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Two actresses deny involvement in a 400 million baht financial scam.
  • Speculation initially targeted Woonsen, later shifting to Nana.
  • Evidence collection is underway, with future legal action planned by victims.

Keep it within the industry... som nam na

Just over a year ago the iCon Group scandal involving many celebrities was making headlines and 18 of them at the top of the pyramid were arrested and denied bail initially. So what was the outcome? Are they still in jail awaiting trial? Was there a trial or will there be a trial?

This latest story sounds like a similar pyramid/ponzi scam.
