Police have launched a major nationwide narcotics crackdown, conducting coordinated raids at more than 2,500 locations and seizing 16.9 million methamphetamine pills on 28 November 2025. The operation, overseen by senior Royal Thai Police commanders, also led to the freezing of assets worth over 152 million baht. Authorities said the efforts aim to dismantle major drug networks and intensify pressure on trafficking operations across the country.

The meeting that preceded the operation was chaired by Pol Gen Samran Nualma, Deputy National Police Chief and Director of the Police Narcotics Suppression Operations Centre. Senior leaders from the Metropolitan Police, Provincial Police Regions 1–9, Border Patrol Police, Immigration, Tourist Police, forensic units and other agencies participated both in person and via video conference. Commanders reviewed nationwide drug trends, outstanding arrest warrants, asset seizures linked to drug crime and progress under government directives to cut major trafficking networks.

Pol Gen Samran said the current mission focuses on accelerating arrests of suspects with existing warrants and freezing assets tied to narcotics offences, including charges of conspiracy, support and money laundering. The latest nationwide sweep marked the third major closure-and-search operation this year, targeting 2,532 locations linked to 608 drug networks. Police made 2,024 drug-related arrests, detained 2,026 suspects, executed 152 outstanding warrants and seized large quantities of narcotics and weapons.

Seized items included 16.9 million meth pills, 330 kilograms of crystal meth, 30 kilograms of ketamine, 4.7 kilograms of heroin, three ecstasy pills, 107 firearms and one explosive device. Officers also confiscated 269,439 baht in cash and froze related assets worth more than 152 million baht. Also between 15 and 28 November 2025, authorities conducted 5,173 searches targeting 1,261 networks, resulting in 7,667 arrests and the seizure of more than 43.7 million meth pills, 2,089.512 kilograms of crystal meth, 37.045 kilograms of ketamine, 13.640 kilograms of heroin, 199 ecstasy pills, 203 firearms, one explosive device and 1,157,800 baht in cash, along with asset freezes totalling 270,955,620 baht.

A major case on 27 November involved the arrest of a suspect in Phayuha Khiri district of Nakhon Sawan by the 191 Special Operations Division. Police intercepted a 12-wheel truck carrying 25 sacks containing five million meth pills. Officers charged the suspect with possession of Category 1 narcotics for sale without authorisation, noting that the scale of trafficking posed risks to public safety and national security. The truck and drugs, valued at 150 million baht, were seized as evidence pending further questioning and legal proceedings.

Naewna reported that Pol Gen Samran has ordered an escalation of operations, directing forces to increase community-level search-and-seizure actions to break trafficking chains more decisively. Officials say continued pressure will be applied nationwide to create lasting disruption to drug networks.
