The charge against the civil rights organizer who coordinated a planned intimidation to disrupt the gathering in the Church.

Google ai overview

18 U.S.C. § 241, titled "Conspiracy against rights," makes it a federal crime for two or more people to conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate someone in the free exercise of their constitutional or federal rights, or because they have exercised those rights, including going in disguise with such intent. Penalties range from fines and up to 10 years in prison to life imprisonment or even the death penalty if the conspiracy results in death, kidnapping, or aggravated sexual abuse. This statute is a key civil rights law, often used to prosecute hate crimes and interference with fundamental rights like voting

Well - add Don Lemon to the list. Of course, he's saying he was "only a journalist." I guess we'll see how that stands.
Personally I'm a free speech absolutist, however, that ends when protestors deliberately attempt to impede other citizens freedom of religious expression. When you enter a church you are not a member of with the intention of disrupting and shutting down the services - well, that's a step over the line. Arrests and prosecution are warranted imho. If nothing else, the protestors are trespassing but I think the DOJ might actually make violations of the church-attendees civil rights stick. In this case, I hope so. Everyone charged will have their day in court.

It was a planned disruption characterized with intimidation by hard core Marxist's. They went to a Church service and spread fear. The coordinator is a civil rights lawyer should of known better, unfortunately her & Lemon and others are more inclined to manipulate people into white supremacy conspiracy theories and race baiting.

Google ai overview:

Yes, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) did go into churches attended by Black people, but these actions were primarily characterized by violence and intimidation, not peaceful attendance. Black churches were specifically targeted because they were central community gathering places and important organizing hubs for the Civil Rights Movement

Political ?

Why wasn't Lemon arrested or charged?

Google ai overview:

"A federal magistrate judge rejected the Department of Justice's request to charge journalist Don Lemon regarding an anti-ICE protest at a Minnesota church on January 18, 2026. The judge concluded that Lemon's presence and actions at the scene constituted protected journalism, not illegal participation, effectively blocking the initial criminal complaint

While the DOJ could potentially seek an indictment from a grand jury, the initial effort to charge him was dismissed".

Great news to wake up to. Posted over in 'anything political' thread. Need big headlines in the MSM, maybe they'll start to see themselves 'as the problem'.

It’s unfortunate to watch our friends on the left decent deeper into the wrong side of history. The civility of civilization is based on law and yet the left erroneously and deliberately chooses to rationalize criminality which makes them culpable, ie The Criminal Left.

The left created a comfort zone in the United States called Blue jurisdictions, Filled with systemic progressive initiatives exercised by Judges, Lawyers, middle class & the poor.

Their opposition is anybody who stands in their way,.

It’s the Law that is standing in their way. Anymore, in order to be certified as a bonafide leftist, one needs to break the law. Wonder how many here who believe that they’re lefties have actually been certified, yet.

He is the male version of Joy Reid,a Race baiter. Both were sacrificed at the altars of progressive news networks.

Google ai overview:

"Both Joy Reid and Don Lemon have faced accusations of "race-baiting" and divisive commentary from critics, particularly within conservative media, while often being defended by supporters as necessary voices addressing racial injustice. "

I understand your point and for the most part it is reasonable. However, if the church or mosque or whatever is using the premises for political activities, it is no longer acting as a spiritual or religious establishment. For example, if the church was providing a place for criminals to hide out, or was operating like one of the UK's infamous hate mosques, I believe it is no longer acting as a religious organization.

As I understand the attack, the church was targeted solely because the pastor was working for ICE. If he was not acting in an ICE capacity at the church then the attack is not fair, nor acceptable.

Doj failed to get Lemon by using a federal judge , used the ham sandwich rule (grand Jury) to get Lemon.

google ai overview:

"Don Lemon Case (Jan 2026): In a separate incident, a federal judge rejected the DOJ's attempt to charge journalist Don Lemon in connection with a church protest. The DOJ tried to bypass the magistrate judge, but the efforts to secure a quick indictment failed".

Don Lemon journalist arrested, 30 year veteran.

"Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done," Lowell said in a statement. "The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable"

Lots of laughs Abby , he's not the first Activist pretending to be a journalist thats ever been arrested .

Google ai overview:

"Based on recent events as of January 30, 2026, Owen Shroyer and Don Lemon are both individuals identified as journalists or media personalities who have faced legal issues related to their reporting or presence at protest events, though they operate on opposite ends of the political and media spectrum".

It is amazing how buffoonish people can be and still be considered "well respected journalists" by the left, as long as they continue spewing the leftist idiocy.

A microphone can be used to intimidate/disrupt especially when the activist using it pretends to be a journalist covering a constitutional right to gather at a church free from intimidation& disruption .

Google ai overview:

"Churches and other places of worship are protected gathering spaces under federal law, specifically the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which can be used to prosecute those who disrupt religious services. The historical Ku Klux Klan (KKK) Act of 1871 was also enacted to empower federal authorities to protect the civil and political rights of individuals from intimidation and violence by groups like the KKK, which included preventing people from gathering freely".

Bottom line, truth be told . This is the Enemy at my countries gate moment. Its either you're for

Federal Laws or for the kind of ideological extremism that justifies disrupting places of worship under the guise of chaotic terrorist style KKK protest.

Google ai overview:

"Based on recent reports and investigations, there are documented connections between anti-ICE, pro-immigrant protests (including "ICE Watch" in Minnesota) and various socialist/communist groups, along with stated Marxist ideological foundations by Black Lives Matter (BLM) founders".
