Possible To Take Dogs

Featured Replies

has anyone ever taken a dog on a bangkok airways or air asia flight? i am talking a medium sized dog who would need to be crated.

I never had direct experience but a friend of mine used service from air asia or bangkok airways, I am not sure which one, to take her dog on the flight.

You just inform to the airline about this subject and they will suggest what you have to do with your lovely dog. :o

on non budget airlines yes you can , on budget airlines no you cant,

i learned this the hard way i was once booked on air asia, and the rejected taking my 4 month old pug puppy in his special crate in the cargo section. so had to pay for extra and take thai air.

on my next trip called the mothehr inlaw shipped the pug by thai air, and i took air asia :o

I took my 5 Papillons with me to Samui on Bangkok Air as cargo (BKK-HKT-BKK) for a very reasonable charge. Was told the dogs had to be sedated, and when questioned at both offices, I replied in the affirmative ;-) ;-) . They traveled in their "underseat" Pet Taxi crates with no problem. This was Songkran 2005.

i took or rather bought a dog in bkk and brought it to samui with bangkok air, they sedate the dog and put it in the hold, they did;nt sedate it enough and you could hear it howling all the way :o

:o I took a puppy (forced on me by a Bangkok policeman) in a proper carrier to BKK Airways checkin in BKK. Clerk freaked, checked in my way-overweight bags for free, said I needed a proper carrier box and sent me off to Thai Airways cargo, where the man listened to my story, looked at my crate and my little BoBo, got out two big stickers with pictures of a fish, a crab, a bird and a dog, took out a big fat magic marker pen, circled the dog picture, pasted them on my carrier and sent me back to BKK Air. Then the chick said the puppy would cry and upset the passengers. Gave me a paracetemol tablet, I bought a Burger King burger, fed BoBo and away she was whisked on the baggage belt. Got to Samui and the baggage boys delayed luggage delivery to give her treats and cuddles. Minibus driver hauled out the passenger in the seat behind him so me and the royal princess were undisturbed. Got to the Haadrin Queen ferry pier and the boys ran out to carry my pack and my paints, while I strolled along with my BoBo.

Just show up. They never say no if you say it just came in on an international flight.
