Try Citibank Hongkong , www.citibank.com.hk , they have a pretty good International Account that can be opened remotely , no need to be there in person , cards , online banking all there , just the interest rate that sucks , 1.35% pa on USD accounts ,,,,

Yes but they are not the USD clearer for HK strange as it might sound.

HSBC is the clearer and has better USD rates for all inbound and outbound transactions. But why limit the a/c to USD when you can have a multi ccy a/c so you can send or receive via the internet in any ccy? www.hsbc.com.hk

Any law company can open a BVI for you in HK and you maintain it from here in Thailand as you can your bank accounts.

Actually you can open a HSBC account with just your passport, called 'powervantage' and a deposit of I think either 100 or 1000 Hkg$.They have a good internet banking system and the ATM card works worldwide. You can buy/sell/stocks/gold etc all from the comfort of home.

Opening a shell company typically costs around Hkg$7500-8000 plus around hkg$3-4000 a year in accountancy fees etc etc.Try Fanny Lai as she can do all the necessary and is reliable.

cheers

Typically they will require a utility bill in your name as proof of address.

  • 3 weeks later...

You cannot open anymore a saving or current account if you are not a HK resident.

They will ask you for a HK ID card + proof of address (phone bill etc..). I have several accounts and HSBC is the best, specially for online account, can transfer money everywhere without any problem.

By the way, there aren't any debit cards, all banks give EPS card that you can use just like a debit card in any shop, but only in HK and not for online shopping.
