I will be arriving tomorrow lunchtime (5 March) and just wondering wheter the airport is busy at the moment.

BKK arrival was fast and bags were already on the carousel when I cleared immigration around 8 am this morning. Probably about 20 minutes from international arrival at gate C3, avoiding travelators, to bag drop on aisle B for my domestic hop.

Arrived 19.30hrs yesterday evening (August 5th). The queue looked very big. Even the priority lane was very busy, with about 6 desks open. I didn't time it, but I reckon it took me a good 20 minutes to get through, far longer than I have waited there before. I dread to think how long I would have had to stand in the main queue. Being able to use the priority lane is one of the few pleasures of being a wrinkly.

Or.....an expensive option.......get a Thai wife and sail through the Thai channel .....555

Has anyone recently arrived early in the morning and have experience with extreme queuing due to the new security procedures?

LTR get to use Fast Track. Not the same as priority lane. Which is a good thing. Priority lane is like 2 counters, and is for business class, elderly, and all the other categories they removed from Fast Track earlier this year.

I’m covered by all …lol. LTR, business and one month before my next arrival, ederly.

It’s actually easier departing BKK. Fast track is at the end near door 9.

When arriving it’s always a cluster<deleted> as they keep changing priority/fast track lanes/ signs.

If I understand the posts above correctly, can I then use priority exit if I fly business class with any airline!? I'm currently booked on business out but premium on return. However, the premium return can be upgraded to business.

I will be 70 when I travel to Thailand next year. Is that considered elderly for being able to use the Priority lane? Knock on wood I do not even remotely look that old and I am not feeble or hobbled. I would not be surprised if some people questioned me being in the "elderly" lane, but still I wonder what the requirements are?

Yes, being 70 qualifies you to use the priority lane. At 81 I obviously look old enough and was waved through when I came in last week. A few years back the attendant stopped me at the entrance and I just showed her my date of birth on my passport.

This website was created in 2023. It appears the parent website was first registered in 2019. Maybe it's real? There's so many website that offer to sell fast track, and some of them are incredibly sketchy. I've seen a few which say they accept crypto as payment (illegal in Thailand) and the websites have only been registered for 1-2 months.

This specific service, I have no information or experience about. One I have personally used in the past is https://limousine.in.th/fasttrack.php

They state on their website that Fast Track is not currently available. So I would not pay any company until you make contact with them and confirm that the service is actually available. It's likely most of these companies just contract out to 1-2 companies that are actually the interface with immigration, and they have not updated the availability of the service on their websites.

Thanks for the reply! I hope it goes well. If not, it's not a big loss and I've already booked for the day I return. Incidentally, I called AOT yesterday and they sent me the link and said it's the only legal website to book fast track.

I find it incredible that anyone no matter how "rich" feels the need to waste what appears to be 2000-4000 to get in the country quicker after probably already travelling 24 hours on average

I cannot genuinely remember after 172 arrivals at Don Maueng and Suvarnabhumbi being in an immigration queue more than 30 minutes and normally less than 10 minutes

If you want to be elite crack on lol but I'll spend the money on more amusing entertainment 😁

When you fly frequently back and forth, came straight off a connecting flight, and often straight off work, it was nice to just be guided past the long queue, especially if you only have carry on luggage with you.

Filthy rich. I take that as a compliment, but no, not at all. But standing in line for 2-3 hours because of some new rules (which most likely soon will be changed again) at security is not acceptable and as long as the price is not more than what many airlines charge for a "seat with better legroom" I see it as a part of the ticket price and not luxury.

In answer to the question in the OP, my GF arrived at BKK yesterday at 12:00 Noon. Immigration was rammed and it took her 1.5 hours to get through. Lots of Chinese apparently.

Arrived 15.30 Thursday.
The first immigration hall had a queue all the way down the sloped entrance + a bit, so I continued to the 2nd immigration hall and it was only queued 25% down the sloped entrance.

It took around 25 mins to get through the immigration.

I think it often looks worse than it is. I have been frustrated many times, but it usually takes less than 30 mins to get through.

It would be relatively easy for Immigration to fix. The queue I was in led up to 10 booths, but only 4 was open.
One should have thought that the automatic passport checks upon departure would have freed up a lot of immigration staff from the departure booths.

Anybody here who has seen more than 30-40% of the booths open?

The overall design is good and would be effective/fast, if they "just" open up more of the booths.

My first trip was in 2004 and of course used Don Maung at the time. 15 trips later to both DMK and BKK and I never waited more than 1 hour and that 1 hour only happned once. Now, having said that, I have seen a few reports and photos of the immigration queue going down the ramp and pretty far back into the hallway. Sure somethings happen now and then, security alert, shortage of staff, computers down, unusual number of same time arriving flights, etc. I typically arrive around 11 AM from my LAX through Taiepei connection although I have arrived at 2 AM and then.
