Private Teaching On The Side

Featured Replies

Hello my fellow teachers!

Well finally I have been asked by some highschool girls to teach them english conversation on the side, meaning outdoors anywhere or in their house(Private Teaching). I was curious to find out how do you guys handle it., Per student and in group. What are the going rates and how much do you charge? Like for example should you charge 500 baht per student per hour? so If you had 3 students you would make 1500 Baht per hour? or you guys think thats a bit too steep? Enlighten me please thank you :o

any ideas or suggestions would greatly be appreciated^^

most of my mates charge 300 baht an hour one on one and 150 baht a head for groups , after school in there classrooms,

but please check if your work permit cover's you for teaching out of your school work place i'm sure someone on here can tell you more

Work Permits are location specific in Thailand. This means you can legally work only at the location listed on the Work Permit and no other unless added to the Work Permit by the Labour Ministry.

I'm sure that the opening poster, as well as the two followup posters, have all made sure that all of their activities, working and otherwise, are always completely legal in the Kingdom, so let's just stick to the topic and answer OP's question.
