Anyone have a link to a chart that show the ranks in order?

I know that the police ranks follow the military ranks, so, a rough idea, i might be wrong in some, from the lowest to the highest:

Lower ranks:

Nai Damluat Sip Tree

Nai Damluat Sip Tho

Nai Damluat Sip Eek

I am not so sure about the Sergeant ranks, but then the officer ranks:

Leu Damluat Tree

Leu Damluat Tho

Leu Damluat Eek

Pan Damluat Tree

Pan Damluat Tho

Pan Damluat Eek

And the generals:

Pon Damluat Tree

Pon Damluat Tho

Pon Damluat Eek

As far as i know if one started as Nai Sip one can only move up highest to Pan Eek, for general rank one has to have studied in the Cadet school.

Good post col.

Hey so would the damluat bit of it be like the 'police rank' portion?

I'll ask this on the language bit :o

Yes, exactly. 'Damluat' means police.

I'm not sure about Colpyat's transliteration for this one too ร้อย. He has spelt it as Leu.

It ought to spelt however as Roi or even Roy

Yeah Colpyat, let's hope those moaners over at the falang/farang thread don't cotton on to your spelling here!

See a previous post about 'r' and 'l'

Damluat is idiot English for ตำรวจ. How about Tamruat?

Hey, teach, instead of correcting the romanization of my spelling, and/or colloquial vs. correctly pronounced Thai with a rolling 'R', would you maybe better spend your energies and correct the missing gaps in the sergeant ranks, or maybe fill in the corresponding exact ranks to western ranking?
