My meatballs....

Featured Replies

As Scandinavian all meatballs are different, forget "American Swedish meatballs.

Norgewian are big and in brown sauce.(köttekaker)

Danish is called frigadell, brown and then bolied in brown sauce, usually big

Swedish meatballs are small only fried in butter

Finiinish are close to to Swedish bit bigger

Now my receipt...(2 years in Thailand)

Breadcrumbs, on " crusto" brand only works, soke it in coconut milk 13-18 min

Mined pork or any meat, (Scandi do 50/50) if you like mutton is ok.

Bland in your spices into the meat, traditional only black pepper and salt.

Don't stop...ginger, chilli, garlic,nutmeg

Mix in bowl,

When it feels like dough..

But a water bottle near

Moister your hands and take up and roll them and put on plate.

If your hands get try soak them again, this takes time to get your balls best(graradma)

Fry in butter......

Ever only can do meatballs, my mother(83)was did I mede better that grandmother

I make Frikadeller every now and again. Though I use beef, as opposed to 50/50. No brown sauce though. A variety of dips, dependent on the accompaniment. Not a huge fan of boiled potatoes. 😊

They are my signature dish. I like to mince my own beef, make then kind of small and once in the pan I use a fork to flatten them out a bit. I get about 8 in a frying pan flattened out in real butter of course. My mom only used beef as well. The burgers with half pork are called karbonader.

I also mince the beef for myself. Though I cannot claim to be any kind of expert.
