Is there any diffrence between ps3 60gb jp and ps3 asia version?

If its like the 360, its about the region coding for games.

They are both NTSC-J, but for some reason the Asian version (read Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore) is different to the Japanese version and can not play those Japanese games that are region locked.

Yah, the games are except for Resistance so far. If you want to play that online, you'll have to buy the correct region (as I unfortunately found out). DVD regions are different. The NTSC-J is for PS2 games you can play on it. Blueray is the same region as the US.
