Repairing Sandwash

Featured Replies

When I built my swimming pool about 15 years ago, I decided to do the sun deck and surroundings in sandwash, Bad choice I know, as it has cracked, and even small holes, in places where it has sun all day, and the small stones go in the filter.

Having it all redone most likely will involve high costs, so I'm looking for a cheaper solution.

I don't know if sandwash can be repaired, alternatively I'm considering covering it with something, like epoxy or just cement.

Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

I gave mine 3 coats of TOA roof paint in the last 12 years no stones coming off

Roof paint on sandwash? Roof paint has a colour, isn't, or is there transparent roof paint.

Anyway too late for that now, it needs repair.

I'd try giving it a coat of clear epoxy

If it is cracked it's past it's use by date. If you want it replaced, the old stuff has to come up. Don't try and put anything over it unless it's decking. At this age the best you will do is use some clorine and power wash & scrub. However this will loosen a lot of the pebbles, You will be flogging the preverbial dead horse.
