Pick-ups And Jatukams

Featured Replies

I notice the weirdest things. Nearly every male pick-up driver I have seen, especially Mitsubisi and Toyota, wear jatukams.

Do these vehicles give them away free?

Are these drivers more religious than car drivers?

Do they need them for good luck because of their inability to drive?

Something to do with their body-size?

Seriously, have a look at a pick-up driver - he's 90% likely to be wearing a jatukam, according to my survey.

A car driver is 22% likely to be wearing one.

It's a generalisation, but could it be that pick up drivers are more likely to try to 'khii dtaam chaang' (keep up with the Joneses)?

demographic similarities I bet.

Drive a pick up, and you are likely to be a baan-nork boy.

Wearing a jatukam says the same thing to me.

All probably vote TRT as well and think Thaksin is a legend.

All crap drivers too who think 130km/h is going too slow.

A new marketing ploy promotes the larger Jatukams as having airbags inside. :o

You're on a pick-up driver bashing tirade again, aren't you? :D

Try to be a little more general.

Damnit, after reading the title I thought this was going to be about people with Jatukams pulling more, oh well....

Can we have this in Thai please 'meadish'. Not sure exactly what 'khii"and "chaang" we are talking about.

This is atually a great proverb to describe pick-up drivers - as small as a fly but shit like an elephant :o

Yep, Neeranam has it there - the meaning is someone who sees an elephant shit and then follows suit - i.e. somebody who goes along with the majority.

nah, I feel like going with the crowd today and generalising things to the point of irrelvancy. Some examples today

- England is going to the crapper and it is all the fault of migrants

- Customs officials at the airport are all scammers

- The Thai economy is falling to bits

- The whole place is XENAPHOBIC towards poor defenseless farangs

- Western women are all fat cows

...I could go on, but doubtless others will for me. :o

The Jatukam trend are over and my market place are selling for 5 baht a piece. Anyone interested in having one? :o
