I had not thought of linking Vichy France to this man, but if you want to, go right ahead. I was thinking more of the man's own links to corrupt politicians, and his Ville's role as a venue of meetings during past corruption scandals of France. Perhaps you are blissfully unaware, but some of the people this man has been associated with and worked with have been implicated in terrible corruption scandals.

It is therefore hypocritical for such a person to present himself as a beacon of honesty and virtue.

As a refresher; Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac, were both convicted of corruption. 3 of the last six French center-right prime ministers were convicted of criminal charges. In addition, 2 of 6 were acquitted. There is another scandal brewing with the current administration.

What I find funny is that he was a minister in the corrupt government of Jacques Chirac. Do you forget that his friend and colleague Alain Juppé (prime minister from 1995-1997) was convicted for helping Chirac to misappropriate Paris taxpayers’ cash to run their political party in the 1980s and 1990s. Another French PM François Fillon was convicted for fraud when he falsely claimed a parliamentary salary for his wife.

You go right ahead and join him in judging others. I have previously expressed my disgust at the current administrations acceptance of. conflict of interests, and of the Congressional members of both parties who engage in stock trades, so I am not new to this.

If I know my Trump, seeing this he's going to sign an Executive Order outlawing French Fries, French Toast and French Kissing.
