The Cushion Is Gone and the Oil Market Is Now Exposed

Featured Replies

  • The oil market initially absorbed a historic supply disruption thanks to surplus, floating storage, and policy interventions.

  • Those buffers are now largely depleted, leaving the system structurally fragile and highly sensitive to new disruptions.

  • With spare capacity constrained and inventories falling, even minor supply shocks could now trigger disproportionate price spikes.

I wonder what level of price per barrel it would take for MAGA supporters to start peeling off in their support of the war. $150? $200?

They are allready the lucid ones at least .things are swinging back to normal.the question is in my view how much damage is he going to do as we drag him kicking and screaming out of our lives.

Great news for Russia and other oil producing nations.

And higher oil price creates demand destruction, less wastage.

Is it necessarily great news for oil producing nations? The USA is the 3rd largest exporter of oil. High prices are going to hurt most Americans.

Gas prices are $2.66 in Alabama and $3.75 in Manhatten LOL.

The sun might go out! Hide!

That's funny. I used gasboddy too. Here's the price map from Gasbuddy for alabama

The map is color coded. The purplish areas are the cheapest. And no price I found in Alabama is less than $3.60 per gallon. I don't think your search was so much random as it was fictional.

And what makes your claim even more suspect here is the chart indexing what the various colors mean.

Do you notice that the lowest price possible was $2.67? Yet somehow you managed to find a price of $2.66. Extraordinary!

Yeah, he does that a lot. I think it's a kind of coping mechanism. Today he even said that the war on Iran was won, just the mopping up left.🤣

You claimed you found $2.66 at random. The price was from yesterday At one station. . Not really believable that you found a profoundly unrepresentative example of gas prices at one place.

The fact is you chose some of the lowest prices out there but claimed you found them at random. If prices aren't a problem, then why go to such lengths to find low ones?

Americans can take it.

Poorer countries are going to hurt more.

Oil producing African nations will get a windfall , more revenue for their oil.

What do you mean by "American can take it." All Americans? Including those at the lower end of the income scale. And as for oil producing African nations and other developing nations, have you ever heard the phrase the "curse of natural resources".
