The Bureau of Immigration has intensified its staffing efforts at major airports across the Philippines, as international departures are anticipated to reach up to 45,000 passengers daily during the Holy Week. Additional frontline personnel and support units have been deployed to manage the increased passenger volume. Immigration Commissioner Joel Viado emphasized that all officers are on full alert to maintain orderly and efficient operations during this peak travel period. Travelers are advised to arrive at airports three hours before their flights.

In response to the surge, the Bureau also issued a warning concerning fraudulent websites that have emerged to exploit travelers. These fake platforms illegally charge fees for the mandatory electronic travel declaration system, known as eTravel. Registration on this platform is free, and travelers are urged to only use the official site, etravel.gov.ph.

The agency advises anyone encountering suspicious websites requesting payments for eTravel to report these incidents to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center. For added ease, travelers can also register using the eGovPH super app, simplifying the process amid the travel rush.
