Having lived in Thailand for 20 years, I totally agree - no hassle or beaurocracy. No visits to Immigration, no 90 Day Reports, no Cambodian bank account and no money in the bank for a retirement visa. Now my personal choice. My apartment is the complete first (upper) floor in a villa similar to photo below, colour white with balcony to the left. I have a large double bedroom with en-suite toilet/shower and air-conditioning, a lounge, also with en-suite toilet/shower, lounge/dining area, kitchen (electric cooking) and balcony. Fans in lounge, kitchen and bedroom. this costs me 400 US$ per month including Government water supply and refuse collection. Electricity extra, and I share the internet cost with my landlord (who lives downstairs with his family). https://photos.ips-cambodia.com/photos/property/19468/2501101126535781-19468-6-Bedroom-Villa-For-Sale-Slor-Kram-Siem-Reap63-360x250.thumb.JPG Nearby, my park for relaxation is, of course, The Angkor Archaeological Park for which I have an annual free pass, being a retired ex-pat.
