How are the Numbers Today

Usually, every month, someone is screaming about employment numbers, how Trump is destroying the economy, etc.

Havent seen anything yet. How were the numbers?

I wonder actually why the call it the March report, since surveys were completed March 12, so it are results from February actually.

https://finance.yahoo.com/economy/articles/march-jobs-report-expected-show-090040196.html

“While this month’s jobs report delivered an upside surprise, we continue to believe that risks to the labor market remain elevated and higher oil prices from the Iran conflict could prove an additional impediment in the months ahead,” Scott Helfstein, head of investment strategy at Global X financial group, said in a note to clients.

Surveys conducted by the BLS for this report were completed by March 12. At the time, the full brunt of the war had yet to hit the job market.

Three weeks later, gasoline prices have surged to more than $4 a gallon, a level that, if it is sustained, would sap U.S. consumers of hundreds of dollars in annual discretionary income.

The numbers included the 30k hospital workers who returned to work after their strike.

The headline number looks okay. Let's take a closer look....

The +178,000 is not even the average of Biden's last year of 2024.

+76,000 of the 178K were in healthcare, almost half because of the end of the strike at Kaiserpermanante.

Manufacturing jobs did grow, but they're still 82,000 lower than when Trump took over.

Unemployment fell to 4.3%, owing to 400,000 Americans dropping out of the workforce. The Labor Participation Rate thus fell. The total US workforce is about 162 million, so 400,000 dropping out of the workforce should have lowered UE to 4.06%.

Expect the March numbers to be adjusted downward.

But hey, the new BLS Chief will be able to keep HIS job for another month.

Just to clarify, exactly where are you now? Because you have a tendency of conveniently being where the "action" is, so can give a firsthand account of what's happening.

So, Cambo, Bangkok, LA, Texas, Minnesota, DC, Dubai?

So, Cambo, Bangkok, LA, Texas, Minnesota, DC, Dubai?

Cambo - No idea.

Bangkok - awesome

LA - Slowing being ruined by the Democrats.

Texas - Growing Economic power house.

Minnesota - Same as LA

DC - Needs more Gentrification

Dubai - No idea.

Some more numbers. Not good numbers. Actually, quite bad numbers. Honestly, they're REALLY sh***y numbers.

Here some numbers...

Iran missiles downed both an F-15 and an A-10 Warthog on Friday.

Two U.S. helicopters were reportedly hit by Iranian weaponry during rescue operations.

Trump stating in early March, “They have no air detection, their radar has been knocked out. Their anti-aircraft weapons are gone. We are unstoppable as a military force.“

Also his top officials have assured that the U.S. is in full control of Iranian airspace...

36% of Americans approve of Trump’s overall job performance, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos survey, the lowest figure of his current term.

The war with Iran is particularly unpopular, with 60% of respondents disapproving of the U.S.-Israeli decision to start the conflict.

The March 2026 jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics did deliver a solid headline beat: non-farm payrolls rose by 178,000, well above the consensus forecast of around 59,000–60,000. The unemployment rate edged down to 4.3% from 4.4%. This marked the largest monthly gain in about 15 months and reversed a revised decline of 133,000 in February (with January revised up slightly to +160,000). Could be worse, a lot worse but thanks to Trump policies it's improving and moving in the right direction.
