The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre successfully transported a Filipino sailor from the ESL DACHAN BAY ship to shore for urgent medical care. On the morning of April 9, SAR 272 brought the sailor to Phước Thắng Ward, HCM City, for transfer to a local medical facility. The rescue was initiated after the sailor suffered severe abdominal pain, prompting emergency assistance.

The incident began on April 8 at 8:40 PM when the centre received an SOS from the ship en route from Taiwan to Singapore. The sailor's condition, flagged as potential acute appendicitis, necessitated immediate medical intervention. As the ship altered its course toward HCM City, rescue teams coordinated the transfer plan with ship representatives.

The centre quickly dispatched SAR 272, equipped with doctors from Vũng Tàu Hospital, to the designated meeting point. Upon arrival, the team assessed the situation, boarded the ESL DACHAN BAY, and safely transported the sailor ashore for further treatment. Specialists identified acute appendicitis, warning of severe complications without prompt treatment.

Looking forward, the sailor's condition will be monitored closely as he receives specialized medical care. The successful rescue underscores the importance of rapid response and coordination at sea, ensuring lives are protected during maritime emergencies.
