Police are investigating a heist at a Pasay City pawnshop, suspecting involvement from inside the establishment. The robbery, potentially executed by the "Termite Gang," occurred on April 13 at a pawnshop on Libertad Street, Barangay 40. Initial losses amounted to around P1 million in jewelry and P100,000 in cash.

The incident was uncovered by a 27-year-old appraiser, Marjorie, from Taguig City, who noticed two holes in a concrete wall leading into the shop. This discovery prompted further investigation, revealing that the suspects had drilled through the wall to bypass security and access the vault and display counters. The method matches the signature style of the "Termite Gang," which has a history of tunneling into establishments.

Authorities suspect an insider played a role, given that the appraiser, Marjorie, was allegedly involved. Evidence reportedly suggests she coordinated with the suspects, leading to her arrest. She faces charges as an accomplice, while the search for the other culprits continues.

Looking forward, police efforts are focused on identifying and apprehending the remaining gang members to prevent future incidents. Security measures are likely to be reviewed in similar establishments to avert such breaches.
