Featured Replies

This guy is saying Canada wants to tax Canadians 500K if they take their skills and go work in the US.

Which is the sign of a failing nation.

Canada is defenseless without the USA

From the point of view of the North American oligarchs who play such a commanding role in their southern neighbours economy and governance, probably. All those resources, all that potential wealth, and they can't get their sticky paws on it!

From the point of view of the Canadians perhaps not, although that fellow who eats apples noisily and talks with his mouth full will disagree - mind you his party did rather get a shoeing in the recent by elections!

Maybe the USA should have sent J D Vance to support him!

Ironic really, given that the USA is the one most recently threatening to move on Canada!

With the amount of resources we have we should be one of the richest nations on earth if not the richest.

Our per capita gdp was almost on par with the US back in the 70s and 80s.

So you tell me.

A left-wing government will lead to a gradual decline of the country.

Simiilar to Norway, except Norway might be doing a better job.

People complain about Trump, but when the population is massive things get much more complicated. The resources per capita in Canada is higher than the US ... although the US is now making oil grabs ...

“From Q4 2025 to Q1 2026, Canada has recorded sustained foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, reaching a new multi-year high.”

And not just in the currency markets; across other sectors, foreign direct investment into Canada reached its highest level since 2007 in 2025. Canada ranked second on the 2025 FDI Confidence Index global rankings by Kearney, only outranked by the US.”

Not bad given the economic war being waged by Trump against Canada.

Advice to Canadians: Chill, you’ve got the fresh water.

We have so much more then Norway. You could fit so many Norway in our borders.

Dollars to donut holes, if you scratch the surface on that one, you'll find a lot of that "FDI" in the form of assembly and/or repackaging plants to dodge tariffs.

Same as Mexico, same as Thailand, same as...

Canada is transitioning its economy, and still has the fresh water.

This is oppression.

Its little more than ours anyway, just with a crappy government. that denies basic human rights to the majority of their citizens. They could reap the benefits of being part of the USA just by asking. I like the idea of the western provinces becoming states, Banff is magnificent.

He's a "former" prime minister, so he can do whatever he wants I guess.

But he looks like a silly teenager with his backwards baseball cap, if you ask me.

Scary that this man ran a country.
