Korat Colonoscopy 2026

For those seeking an affordable colonoscopy option, I can recommend St. Mary's Hospital in Korat. (044240240)

Consultation slots available M-F 5pm-8pm. Weekends are busy Sat 9-12 and 3-6, or Sun 12-6.

We had a Monday consultation, arriving at 5pm, 20-minute wait. Doctor spoke good English. Fee for consultation and 2-part bowel prep med package 2400 baht.

Scheduled an early morning procedure on Friday. Arrived at 7:00, registration and 10K deposit (no extra fee for US credit card), took 20 minutes. Called in for IV at 7:45, moved to operating room at 8:30. Prepped and doctor arrived at 9:00. Given oxygen and IV sedative, doctor began, patient slept. Woke up an hour later. First-time procedure was painless and stress-free.

Initial estimate was 25K, +/- 1K, with additional 1800 if biopsy required.

Final cost for the procedure was 23,650 (plus 2400 for the consultation and prep package).

We parked in the hospital lot, did the procedure, had lunch in the food court, then walked to our hotel, not wanting to drive so soon after anesthesia.

Nearby hotels include the Centerpointe at Terminal 21, 1800 baht, 800 meters from the hospital, and the Nuea Nate Hotel & Momentum Cafe, 800 baht, only 250 meters from the hospital, next to the bus terminal.

Too expensive? Jomtien Hospital currently advertising colonoscopy for 15K, plus 5K for biopsy.

Not much gas afterwards. After lunch, we moseyed over to Terminal 21 for a couple hours of shopping until our hotel room was ready. Gas was retained until arrival in our room.

No moistening either. Underwear was in my backpack. Woke up dressed, with an adult diaper (Pampers brand, charged 50 baht on bill) under by elastic gym shorts. Changed to more presentable clothing before going shopping.

Hotel is next to the bus station, with KFC, Burger King, and 7-11 nearby.

Rooms are renovated but smallish, with king bed and huge TV screen.

Good sized bathroom all in working condition.

4th floor room facing Mitraphap road surprisingly quiet.

Included meh breakfast.

We took this as closer walk, about 5 mins, from the hospital, and weren't particularly concerned about amenities, just needing to poop and sleep, and poop some more.
