Ho Chi Minh City has proposed a VND44 trillion ($1.67 billion) expressway connecting Long Thanh International Airport to Ho Tram resort. This initiative aims to streamline travel between the airport and Vietnam's premier beach tourism corridor, enhancing accessibility for visitors.

The HCMC People's Committee has submitted this investment plan for approval, suggesting Masterise Long Thanh-Ho Tram Expressway Infrastructure JSC as the developer. The proposed 42 km road would be built under a build-transfer contract, with land allocations valued at over VND38 trillion and additional state funding of nearly VND6.3 trillion. Designed to accommodate high-speed eight-lane traffic, the expressway will significantly reduce travel time compared to the current route via National Highway 51, which takes around two hours by car.

Linking Long Thanh Airport directly with the Ho Tram-Xuyen Moc resort belt, the expressway is expected to bolster beach tourism and regional economic integration. The airport, which handled its first technical flights on December 19, 2025, aims to commence commercial operations by late 2026. Once fully operational, it will cater to 100 million passengers annually, positioning it as a major Southeast Asian aviation hub.

Ho Tram is recognized for its developed beachfront resorts, including The Grand Ho Tram. The expressway will make this destination one of the most accessible premium resorts in Southeast Asia. Groundbreaking is planned for April 30, with the project's completion targeted for 2030.
