A man was arrested on Monday, April 27, in Mandaluyong City after attempting to claim a ₱172 million lottery jackpot using a forged ticket. The incident occurred at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Shaw Boulevard. Authorities confirmed the forgery through a detailed examination and the official Lotto database, which verified that the prize had already been claimed by the rightful winner.

The fake ticket, discovered with handwritten entries in ballpen, was identified by the PCSO Data Center and Security Office as counterfeit. Upon this confirmation, the suspect was apprehended. Key evidence, including the marked and signed ticket, was seized by officials.

The man underwent a medical examination before being turned over to investigators. He now faces charges of "Falsification of Public Document" and will undergo case build-up and inquest proceedings at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office.
