Deepal Max Long Range S05

Featured Replies

Anyone here have experience with the Deepal S05 Long Range, or with Deepal in general?

I am planning to buy an EV, and so far the Deepal S05 Long Range is one of the most interesting options I have found in the price range 1 million!

I was hoping the European version with 4WD might come to Thailand this year, but I cannot see any signs of it being launched here yet. Maybe it is worth waiting for the December Motor Show in Bangkok before making a decision.

I also really like the Toyota bZ4X, but it is outside my budget for this year.

For our use, we already have a pickup truck, so the EV would mostly be for around 30 000km a year. I am also looking at backup battery options for the house, which makes Deepal especially interesting if their future cooperation with Sigenergy develops further.

Serious sources have confirmed that Deepal and Sigenergy are collaborating on integrated solar and EV solutions. Successful field tests in March 2026 showed that Deepal EVs can function as part of a home energy ecosystem using Sigenergy’s bidirectional charging technology, enabling both home backup power and grid discharge.

Are there any other models I might be missing?

One important point: I am often on and off dirt roads, and some of them can be wet and slippery, so ground clearance is important to me.

That is one of the reasons I am unsure about the BYD Sealion 7. It looks like a good car in many ways, but for my use it sits too low, and the 4WD version is very heavy, nearly 2.8 tons gross weight.

So I am looking for an EV that gives me a sensible balance of range, ground clearance, weight, price, and reliability — not just the best-looking spec sheet.

Take a look and test drive the Jaecoo 6 AWD.

Yes, we were both very impressed. With the Jaecoo 5 not at all. The 6 is good off-road too in the iWD variant.

Excellent value too.

In the end we bought a Sealion 7 but we were very tempted.

The thing is, we alrady have a «Tractor» and need a bit more roadfriendly, but still handle little bit dirt road and slippery surface. It is only one thing I disliked about Deepal S05, was the knee at left side, but I guess that will be okay at once I start driving it. I loved the seating comfort in the Sealion 7, but to low ground clearing for us.

It was way back July 2025 I was interested in buying the S05. I decided not to, because the seller, even after calling head office, could not confirm in wording & writing the battery warranty include a replacement, in case SOH falls below 70 during warranty period. In the meantime everyone including Deepal is hopping on the lifetime warranty bandwagon not to loose customers.

With regards to Deepal or any other EV maker working together with Sigenergy, finally you should look at what is being realized and tested.

Australia is regulatory wise ready with V2H/V2G unlike Thailand. Sigenergy is also, however EV makers in Australia are not willing yet to extend their battery warranty for V2H.

As of mid-2026, the Deepal S05 Long Range (both BEV and REEV) in Thailand often features a lifetime battery warranty as part of special promotional campaigns, alongside coverage for the electric motor and motor controller.

First time buyer would be hard to bet for comparably priced EV.

For now, I am waiting to see what happens next. One important question is whether the Deepal S05 will become compatible with the Sigenenergy system, and more importantly, whether Deepal will keep the warranty valid if the car is used as a home battery.

The Bangkok Motor Expo in December could be very interesting, especially if Deepal launches new promotions or gives clearer answers about warranty conditions. For that reason, I think it is worth waiting before making a decision.
