Vaccine List for Seniors in Thailand

I think if you do the full course of Hep B vaccine, you are good for life.

Not necessarily.

After a couple of decades, you should check your antibodies. I did that after about 30 years and got a booster.

Hep B is common here, and can be sexually transmitted.

If you want some more vaccines for your list I suggest that you contact RFK the US Health Expert he will be able to help you becaause he endorses all of them.

Hep A vaccine protection is long lasting and booster is not normally required.

Had my first Hepatitis A in 2009. Second in 2025. Practice Nurse told me I'm now good for 20 years.

QDenga: Takeda (the company that makes it) has never tested it with seniors, and for that reason doesn't recommend it. Neither does Thai Travel Clinic (of Mahidol University, one of the leading places for tropical medicine in the world).

I do know infectious disease doctors in Bumrungrad and in Europe who do recommend it for seniors.

Personally, I still don't take it as it still is a very, very new vaccine.

But I am watching it.

I've also read QDenga only has 61% effectiveness. I've had dengue three times, waiting for that fourth strain!

Havrix does both A & B. Unfortunately, none for C, D, E, and F but I have hopes for new recombinants.

Hep A is usually due to contaminated water or anilingus.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear on this one - there is a 'different' flu shot for 60+ that is more than the trivalent normal flu shot most people receive my doctor told me it is 4X stronger. I had it last week and wasn't aware there was a differet shot - sure enough the package said for over 60s.

The flu shot is a scam. Not worth getting. Same with the Covid shots. If anything, both the flu and Covid shots make it more likely to become ill.

Seniors, to remain healthy, need to avoid those shots.

Thanks for your information. I'm grateful for whatever I get under UK NHS. It's hit and miss of course. Got an invitation via SMS to go for Pneumococcal vaccine when I turned 65. However, Tetanus (10 year validity) had long expired and no contact. Told my Pactice Nurse I was going on holiday to Thailand and Japan. She gave me a Hepatitis A plus a Tetanus jab which then brought me up-to-date.

I've had it only once (before getting Qdenga). Serotype 1. Was your second infection as bad as they say? How about the thrid? less so?

You make a long list in your post - too many for me. It's fair to observe that cancer and heart problems cause the most deaths.

Sure. It's just a list. But also, you mentioned you're 78, much of the recommended vaccines and preventative interventions stop at 70. Dr at Phayathai Hospital told me cancer screening for elders is advised for once a year until 70. Also the calcium artery screening (CT scan to determine your heart disease risk) also stops at 70. Why 70? I don't really know. Maybe Sheryl knows why there's a cutoff for some things and not others.

They were all pretty different, did not ease up. Lotsa joint pain.

Thanks. I checked my records. I had the first of the 2 Hep A shots in 1998 and the second the following year. So good for life. I had the 3 Hep B shots in 2016. I thought that's good for llfe too. Maybe not?

If you want to stay healthy, avoid all vaxes like the plague....

Know anyone who has died from the polio vaccine or tetanus vaccine?

No? Me neither.

Can only mention what my GP's Practice Nurse told me after giving me my second Hepatitis A jab. 'You're good for 20 years'.
