Israel Public Relations takes a Huge Hit

Israel’s far-right security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has sparked widespread international condemnation after releasing a video showing detained Gaza flotilla activists being taunted following their interception.

The activists were detained after Israeli forces stopped dozens of aid vessels attempting to reach Gaza amid the ongoing blockade.

According to organisers, at least 87 detainees have now begun a hunger strike in protest at their treatment in custody.

The footage has intensified scrutiny of Israel’s handling of humanitarian missions and the conditions faced by those detained at sea.

Israeli officials have distanced themselves from Ben-Gvir’s actions while defending the legality of the flotilla interception.

International reactions have been swift, with several governments condemning the video and calling for respect for international law.

The incident comes amid mounting global pressure over Israel’s blockade of Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian aid deliveries.

Donald Trump would suggest that this is fake news and that K2938 has no talent and very poor ratings. Sorry K I know who has no talent and very poor ratings, just check the latest polls.

What needs to be thought about is, if this is what is being done to foreign peace activists in front of cameras, imagine what is happening to Palestinian prisoners with no cameras.

As of recent data from the Israel Prison Service, over 3,300 Palestinians are held in administrative detention by Israel. This measure allows Israeli authorities to incarcerate individuals without charge or trial based on classified evidence. Detentions can be renewed indefinitely, and neither detainees nor their lawyers are permitted to see the evidence against them

Yet, the USA still fails to list Israel as a terrorist country/group/etc.

Not surprising, with Zionist in control of Trump and the USA.

Criticizing Israel is not inherently antisemitic. Like any other sovereign nation, the policies, actions, and officials of the Israeli government are open to debate, political critique, and protest. This distinction is widely acknowledged by major human rights and Jewish advocacy organizations.

Claiming that hamas is an Israeli construct is demonstrably false and follows the anti semitic thought process that everything is the fault of the Jews.

You didn't provide links to show Israel created Hamas .

Israel didn't create Hamas .

A quick websearch :

"Hamas was founded in 1987 by Palestinian Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and his aide Abdul Aziz al-Rantissi. The group was established in Gaza as an offshoot of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, emerging shortly after the outbreak of the First Intifada"

Israel did not directly create Hamas, though Israeli authorities did adopt policies in the late 1970s and 1980s that inadvertently helped the group gain a foothold.

Countering the PLO: In the late 1970s and 1980s, Israel allowed Islamist charities and organizations, including Yassin's network, to operate legally in Gaza. The strategy was to foster an Islamist alternative to counterbalance Yasser Arafat's secular and left-wing Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which was carrying out attacks against Israel.

The Backfire: While Israel did not found the organization, this "divide and rule" policy and the decision to permit the rise of Islamist institutions are widely viewed today as a catastrophic strategic error

In more recent years, particularly under former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's governments, Israel's strategy shifted toward containment. This involved permitting Qatar to transfer millions of dollars into Gaza.

Officials often justified this flow of funds by arguing it was necessary to maintain stability and prevent humanitarian collapse, though critics and some former officials argued it was intended to keep the Palestinian territories politically splintered.

PRESS REVIEW – Thursday, May 21: There's outrage and condemnation in the international papers over a video showing Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir taunting detained flotilla activists. One Israeli editor says he should be fired for his video.

Even Netanyahu distanced himself from this atrocious display of abuse.

Canada (with 12 people detained) called in the Israeli ambassador for an explanation. Other countries have done similar and condemned this event.

  • Popular Post

This video has destroyed the illusion of Hasbara. For decades, Israel has relied on “Hasbara” – a Hebrew term translating to “explanation” – a propaganda campaign to justify its policies and military actions against Palestinians to the international community.

Hasbara budget is projected to leap from roughly $15m in 2023 to an unprecedented $700m by 2026.

Experts argue that the frantic damage control by Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who ordered the rapid deportation of the activists, stems not from moral outrage over the abuses, but from the catastrophic damage done to Israel’s global image.

The Israeli leadership is treating this as a public relations crisis, not a moral one. For Netanyahu, the sin was not the torture or humiliation of the activists; the sin was broadcasting it to the world. Ben-Gvir, however, does not care about Israel’s external image; he performs these abuses for his domestic right-wing base, confident that Israel will face no material consequences.

The world has seen that these abuses really are the norm and not the exception.

I see you still have not given up on informing those, who deny Israel´s atrocities.

They KNOW what you say is true. They just try desperately to maintain their "forever victim" status, which is long gone.

The have been creating their own alternate reality about that brave democracy which seeks nothing but peace but is surrounded by evil enemies who hate them for being so smart and resourceful, while in truth they hate Israel for decades of torture, murder, rape and land theft.

Bassem Youssef described debating with them perfectly:

"Your optical nerve is anti-Semitic" I love it. 🤣
