Does Trump care one iota about rising inflation?

Featured Replies

Certainly to many of us it would appear that Trump does not care about inflation other than the fact that it may hurt his prospects during the midterms. This is just another reason why I advocate that the American people should never choose a billionaire as a leader. His insensitivity to the plight of the common man is rather notorious, and it sure says a lot about how dark his heart is.

He just recently said that he doesn't really care how long it takes to resolve the situation in Iran, and I guess if I were a multi-billionaire and I were the leader of the "free world" maybe I wouldn't care either. Though I doubt I'm that pathological a super freak.

The split between Wall Street and most U.S. households grew wider Friday as U.S. stocks rose to the finish of their eighth straight winning week, the best such streak since 2023. That’s even though a survey showed U.S. consumers are feeling even worse about the economy.

The strength of the stock markets is coming even after a survey of U.S. consumers by the University of Michigan found sentiment fell to a record low, piercing below a bottom in 2022 when inflation peaked above 9%. Households are feeling worried about how bad inflation is now because of expensive oil created by the war with Iran.

Worries about inflation have climbed so high that traders on Wall Street have eliminated bets that the Federal Reserve will resume its cuts to interest rates later this year. Lower rates would give the economy a boost, but they could also worsen inflation.

There have been some very rich people who have some social consciousness and some awareness of the responsibility that wealth imbues upon an individual.

However there are some street trash like Trump and Musk who are likely the most selfish billionaires in the history of mankind, and most certainly the least charitable and least conscious.

Recent government filings in the US show in the first three months of this year, thousands of stock market trades were made on behalf of Donald Trump and there is no doubt his incessant tweets have an affect in moving the markets.

Now Maga's will probably say he's just being smart others will call it corruption at the highest level.

One things for sure its not Trump thats losing out or suffering.

Overall the same pattern has emerged throughout time. A few here and there sure. But it has made almost no difference in the direction society has taken.

Id rather focus on the whole.

Sound advice - why don't you practice what you preach?

Trump doesn't care. That much is obvious. He keeps obsessing about lower interest rates and of course, inflation would follow all the money printing and expansion of the money supply. Just what the doctor ordered to default on the debt. Not directly, but by way of a slow destruction of the currency.

I hate to admit it but Trump was right.

He said that if people voted for Kamala Harris gas prices, groceries prices and utility bills would all go through the roof.

Well, nearly half of those that voted did choose Harris and guess what happened ?

Gas, groceries and utility bills have all gone through the roof.

Looking at the data, the only thing that has really spiked is gas.

According to the USDA Economic Research Service, food-at-home prices (purchased at supermarkets) rose by 2.9% year-over-year, and increased 0.7% in a single month. Consumers are currently paying roughly 20% more for groceries compared to four years ago.

Inflation didn't get under 3% until 2024. You are gaming numbers.

Nope. That is completely fake news. I'm here in America right now and I can tell you that inflation is well beyond 10% annually. I see it every time I come back here and I do not trust those government numbers on any level. They are lying through their teeth.

Prices here are skyrocketing and labor is completely out of control. One guy that does some work for me tells me that he cannot find laborers for $300 a day cash. And he hires mostly migrant workers. America needs many more immigrants, not less.

Somehow, I don't think that even Trump himself knows what he cares about other than another term in office.
