Just saw that Hakka and Cantonese people in Mauritius are revitalizing their historical "Chinatown" there the first in Africa

Also knew majority of Chinese in America are Cantonese

And the majority of Chinese Thais have Hakka heritage

Why?

Doesn't make sense since 92% of Chinese are Han.

A Hakka religious wackjob wanted to destroy the Manchurian minority controlled Qing dynasty (let's call it the Deep State supported by rich Han merchants--sounds familiar?) 😄

FUN FACT: Trump's father's name is "Christ" so technically he is also the Son of Christ.

Sounds stupid but 20-30M people died in the civil war, including a million Hakka slaughtered in an ethnic cleansing.

Fortunately Hong Kong and Macaco were just a short boat ride away and the California Gold rush was just starting and California needed lots of "coolies" to build railroads

Another fun fact: In India "coolies" is not an ethnic slur but just means train porter to carry your bags onboard.

Many Hakka escaped to both Thailand and America and many parts of the globe.

Hell, my first trip to Guatemala I ate in a Chinese diner and ordered egg rolls (spring rolls)*

They had no idea what I was talking about it was hilarious

And whatever I ordered was horrendous and not tasty, yikes 😂

*Egg rolls, as we know them in the West, do not exist in traditional Chinese cuisine. They are a 20th-century American invention.
