Italian Man Accused of Trying to Smuggle Heroin Into Koh Samui Police Cell

A 46-year-old Italian man has been arrested on Koh Samui after allegedly attempting to smuggle heroin into a detention cell at Bo Phut Police Station. Police said the suspect, identified only as Domenico, arrived with a drink bottle while visiting an Italian friend who was being held pending deportation. Officers inspected the bottle after noticing its cap looked unusual and discovered 0.33 grams of heroin hidden inside a condom. A later search of the man’s rented accommodation reportedly uncovered 12 packets containing heroin and crystal methamphetamine, along with plastic bags believed to be used for repackaging drugs. He now faces narcotics possession and attempted distribution charges under Thai law.
