Bringing Baby Items Through Security At Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

My husband and I will be flying for the 1st time with our 8 month old daughter. This will be an int'l flight and I am wondering if anybody can answer a question about security rules there. I want to know if I will be able to bring her baby bottles with sterilized water through security. Otherwise, I don't know what I am supposed to do...don't want her to become dehydrated..and the water she drinks has to be sterilized, so I really don't want to give her bottled water bought on the other side of security, and I have read many stories about babies becoming very ill when using water on airplanes. Anybody been able to bring their baby's water through without issues?

Thank you.

Monica

Just pack as usual, no one will say anything. Baby products are just fine. Have done it twice in the past 6 months.

You and my wife have the same obsession about sterilized water. I just don't get it, myself. Give their immune system something to start working on, so they don't grow up to be one of those people who's always sick. Thats my opinion, which, as a man, is always ignored.

Thanks - I'll try. I have been calling and speaking with differet people at the airport - all say it is a 50% shot depending on who is at security and what they decide - seems ridiculous that it is up to somebody's mood....and apparently they are still doing the security at the gate as well, so they told me again, up to security. We'll see. As for exposing her to diff. things - i guess I figure exposing her to different taxi rides and driver's coughs is expereince enough...along with walks along sukhumvit with the great air quality... :o Also, I think my nervousness (and mommy-ness) comes from some travel stories I read about families traveling domestically in the US and babies becoming very ill to the point of being unconcious and in a hopital as a result of drinking the water given on the airplane...Thanks for tip, good to know you guys got through!

I had more trouble coming from Heathrow where I had to drink some of the water in every bottle to proove it wasn't poison or liquid expolsive(?!) than taking any of the 7 internal flights we did in LOS or the flight from SUV back to London. All they may ask is that you taste it but no one did on any of the flights & I had 8 bottles filled with sterile water plus a full flask too so I don't think you need to worry.

Have flown in and out of BKK and HKG 4 times recently with no problems at all. But leaving the UK we had drink some of each bottle.

I flew in and out of SUV and Manilla / Cebu - Every time we were asked if it was baby food / water etc, we said yes. It stopped there. There were no request to try or drink anything. Perhaps outside of Asia it's different. So it would depend on where you are headed.
