A bitter row has erupted inside the US security apparatus after FBI Director Kash Patel publicly revealed details of an alleged plot targeting a UFC event at the White House, blindsiding investigators and triggering fears the operation had been compromised.

Without naming Patel directly, Quinn criticised leaks that could jeopardise operational security, warning officials not to "choke on your own smoke". He stressed that the Secret Service had led the investigation from the outset and deliberately avoided public disclosures to protect its integrity.
