Unless you spend big money I think Singapore may disappoint.

Been looking at Malaysia maybe KL or Langkawi.

sorry but my internet has just died (well not completely, as i can obviously post this - but nearly) and i cant load many pages. try the above link, but i just googled 'luang prabang hotels' and took my pick there.

Decided on Singapore after all. Managed to get some cheap flights with Jetstar and got a good rate at the Mercure with my Accor card.

Google Pink Rose Holidays. They're run by Bangkok Airways. Have had at least a dozen very enjoyable holidays through them and their various destinations. They key (IMO) is their better selection of hotels and resorts.

thanks for that, just checked their website and they have an offer on with Singapore Airlines that I should be able to use cheaper than the rate I got from Jetstar.

Did you consider Hanoi.

Something different and plenty of french food and wine!

I believe Air France offers competitive prices.
