Whether you want big muscles or not is a matter of personal preference. Whether you think a certain physique looks good is also subjective. There is no right or wrong. If you prefer one person’s physique over another’s, that’s perfectly fine. Different people have different goals. You are right about the risk of injury though. It’s a very real risk, especially after the age of 40. I’ve had plenty of injuries myself, so I know what it’s like. Ironically, I have far fewer aches and injuries now than I did when I was younger because I’ve learned how to train smarter. A lot of injuries at any age can be prevented with just 10 minutes of proper warm up and mobility work before lifting weights, but many people underestimate how important that is. Ronaldo is an elite athlete, and he looks like one. However, many people can achieve an athletic looking physique without having his level of athletic ability through consistent training, diet, and discipline. To be honest, he probably takes some performance enhancing drugs as well, but he doesn't look like it because he doesn't focus on bodybuilding and weight training.
