My friends have had a some contacts with Thai and Chinese girls on the sites who redirect them to www.interlingvo.com: a site that charges for the translation of messages from English into other languages and vice versa..though not Thai. No-one has been able to extract an email address nor a mobile number from these girls...Is it a scam? (The admin seems to be based in Russia, that fount of dating scams, and the Translation Services in Osaka.)...If so maybe the Forum/Thailovelinks (appears Cupid is pretty much an OK site) might post a caution on the Forum and on their sites?? What do you think!?

No. People have met real girls on there. So, those girls that are doing that, are scamming in a sense.

Those are Google ads. I don't think they're an endorsement, what Google is doing is supplyinig ads based on keywords in the boards.

Thailovelinks is legit and I think based in the UK. There is some kind of option to add translation which only works on sites like their sister websites for South America, where it can do Spanish. No reason to add it for Thai because it can't do it and almost everyone can type at least a little English. Can not vouch for other sites.

And if no ones been able to extract an email or a mobile phone, think of it like a bar. You don't always get the number. I've got plenty of emails and cell numbers through Thailovelinks. Actually met two women last trip to Thailand, but no chemistry.

However, not everyone on Thailovelinks is legit. For some reason lots of Russian women will show up saying they're in the US, but are clearly not. I've never replied back or sent emails to them and every one's profile is shut down the next day. No idea what they would be trying to do. Never ran into any issue with any Thais, other than lots of the very stunning pictures are not the girl's actual picture. But that doesn't mean anything because sometimes it's a modesty thing and they're actually vey good looking. But as you'd expect the majority not using their own pic are not so appealing.

One big problem is that a lot of the guys are not looking for legitimate relationships, or are stupid enough to chat like they're in a beer bar. Really puts the girls off I think. So it's hard to meet the ones you want to, they get so swamped with junk. My ex-girlfriend is the one who showed me the website the first time. She'd already given up on it by then and just said to delete every unread message. I wrote some messages back to some guys for her. They were such liars I couldn't believe they thought she couldn't figure it out. They'd even lie about things when their profile said something different.

There was a few of us doing that a few years ago, I never believe much online myself, I used to have a girlfriend who would go to chatrooms and tell all sorts of lies, she thought it was hilarious.

Anonymous chat rooms are one thing. This other stuff just makes the website worthless which is why I pretty much gave up on it myself. If someone contacts me, great, if not, it's easier standing out from the crowd in real life when I get off the plane.

This thread has gone off in several different directions. To the op question…. I don’t know about other sites but when I was actively dating I went out with a lot of women from thailovelinks. And one of the first date fun conversations is about who you have met or know from thailovelinks. Here is what I can tell you from personal experience.

• This site is full of sincere women looking for authentic relationships
  
• While they are looking for a relationship some are happy to have some fun but still they want to take some time to make sure it’s with a good guy
  
• Some are happy to have a special guy or a gig or whatever who is a sugar daddy
  
• I never met someone who was a scam
  
• Lots of guys go on and do nasty chat – the women aren’t amused or interested
  
• Some guys think women with jobs will be happy to drop everything when they arrive in Thailand and take a holiday before they know you. Maybe you get lucky but I don’t think so…
  
• If you live in Thailand and don’t like meeting women in bars this is a great site. Use your common sense. Use the search filters.
  

I say be smart and check it out. I've met some great women and had a lot of fun.

Don't go to places, towns or cities that have b/g and the chances of meeting a b/g are greatly reduced.

Supermarkets, shops, restaurants (away from said b/g areas) and many similar type places have many beautiful women working in them. But it often takes time to get to know these women as they tend to be more shy of Farangs.

If you need to use love sites then use the free ones. Thay way you are not paying for the privilege of being led up the proverbial garden path.

First Thai woman I met was over the net. She had a web cam and was genuine. When I met her face to face she was pretty much as I expected. Only thing for me was we did not get along well so I moved on and found another.
